Alas, summer sets in as my first blog makes its entry to this new season. And for the past month a lot has been on my palette. June brought in Plein Air Painting at Taylor Ranch Preserve(thank you Placer Land Trust), photographing architecture, accepting an offer to produce and installing new paintings at the Kiwanis House in Sacramento,Ca. which is my second time donating my time and art to this wonderful organization, and lastly painting mail boxes.
First I will share a video from the Plein Air event in Auburn,Ca. I will say it was a great time meeting new artists and being on a land which is preserved for its natural being. The pinnacle of these event was the cows moving real close and made me wonder, is this going to end up like a rodeo clown stint... . And me jumping in the river or up a tree-LOL.
Note:^ above ^a quick portrait of a friend done in April_2012.
My second stint was doing photograph work for Kevin Nye @ Image National. It was fun! :). This is just a sample of the sign I snapped and my endorsement does not extend beyond the realms that this was an action to a type of work... . Say? I have not been to S.A. in over a decade.
My services now extend to mailbox paintings. Surprised? I am. This is my quick piece I did for a patron in Loomis, Ca.
Lately, I've been doing a lot of portrait and landscape studies which have been taking me away from my sudden burst of improv sketches on my large pad of 22x25 inch paper, here in the studio. And
I've longed to draw expressively for a while now, so I did so on a whim this past week. This drawing below is the second that I'm working on, and I will debut the painting in April this year. Details to come soon.
Along side these visual brainstorms, I have another piece same size below sitting in the background of my wall ready re visit.
Fine artist, blogger, and open for commissions! Portraits.
