I heart portrait work, especially when doing so from life. My son who just turned four years old finally sat for me twenty minutes. I believe it was magical how quick this 36x40 acrylic portrait came together.

Chiming in for the very first time this year, and these blog posts are few and far between; however, I am committed to blog forward in the spirit of sharing my art from the source myself. Spring 2017 was a great season of creative endeavors and opened new doors to establishing a personal style and new body of work. 120 paintings done in two weeks. The process completely new to me, and completely spontaneous like a volcano bursting with lava. I may explain more about the process later, to some it may be obvious? Here's a sample of the work. because it's getting good. A month nearly as passed since my last B-L_o-G,but who?s really counting... I wanted to feature this New Year blog to this piece, which has been hanging around for a while. Come Here Often? Is Oil on 16x20 Canvas. Still in a raw state;no,varnish or sealer. The source of inspiration arose one sunny day when "Artist", Vanessa Sanchez- who specializes in make-up design took my suggestion for joker theme. Miss Sanchez's photo here was heeded on my suggestion for joker theme. She proceeded and I was inspired and produced this piece. Therefore, taking shape as it is today united; a personal expression of my art. Almost like a natural organic conception? None the less, here it is, take it, as you will. To be continued... ~Moysays.
This 12"x12" Still-Life,Titled: Living On Edge, is an abstract piece using color and everyday objects that we refer to as "Life". However, I believe this piece was inspired by Earth Wind and Fire on a sub conscious level. Take a moment and reflect if you will on this timeless piece by : Earth Wind and Fire. Then Enjoy my piece,if you will or not :). ![]()
Drawing is like making an expressive gesture with the advantage of permanence. Henri Matisse:
Drawing the basics for the basis of making expressive art is the root of ALL art.
#Quote This is my basis for the basic. I was inspired to be an artist in Drawing and Painting for this reason. But not reason alone.

Greetings :) ! At last, I bring another post in regards my mixed media abstract painting of the figure. This study was more about using new tools and paints. I started with 90 lb drawing paper gessoed it and applied numerous layers of paint! Thus! This was born! Untitled: 22x24 inches. Artist: Moysays,2014. ALAS! I may blog again. I'm super stoked and excited to be back stay tuned.
OR follow @moysays on InstaGram . Greetings Folks, This is my first "v blog", video blog... These micro tidbits of demonstrating art practices... Are an impromptu and informal way of how I prepare a canvas for paint. As you may remember, "managing my art as parent is 'getting easier'..." Hint- from my previous blog. And! Alas! My art Is becoming a bit more steady being parent of a seventh month old boy. However. I am learning that an impromptu, efficient, take on studio practices are becoming more creative, especially since it's cold outside and my home studio has downsized dramatically due to my son's arrival last May :). Here are some mini Instagram videos showing how I usually tone a canvas. I do this for various reasons, different ways; so this is the very basic that I share with all my clients who are or have taken art lessons from me. Go here >Instagram< to follow my posts and see what catches my eye or lens of my 5c. And check out my second v log about grating charcoal. Thank you for tuning in, Moysays . Rejoice and Celebrate our Imaginations. Alas ! I am getting back to my art blog, slowly but surely, with a new addition to my team. I am a proud parent now of a six month old baby boy of who I am very proud of; he is my best creation thus far and inspiration of my future. Onwards. It's been about a year since I've been able to get back to my art and seriously put effort into it. Nonetheless, here's a recap. I had my last show at Golden Bear;Sacramento, CA. I displayed 6 pieces, and met some really cool people and was honored to be apart of the November 2012, 2nd Saturday Art Walk in Sacramento, CA; where I am from. Need less to say, I was very busy taking care of my personal affairs with a newborn on the way. Finally (now), my life has become unified to my third eye once again. I am starting to dream more vividly and listening to my inner senses once again. Being an artistic parent is becoming more manageable... Now here I am, lets rejoice and make art :) Artfully, Moysays |
